At LINK Unlimited Scholars, we sense a palpable spirit of promise and hope in the communities we serve—and we experience it most powerfully in the voices and faces of the dynamic Scholars we work with throughout the year.
For nearly 60 years, LINK Unlimited Scholars has helped thousands of Black students in Chicago to exhibit academic excellence, succeed at top colleges and universities, and build remarkable careers of achievement. Through our proven fellowship and mentorship model, LINK provides these talented and driven young people the resources they need to ignite their passions and achieve their dreams. Those key impacts have remained steady from our founding through this past year.
And what a year it was! Thanks largely to steadfast support from our community, LINK’s 2024 class of Scholars achieved some amazing results, including:
- 100% high school graduation
- Average grade point average of 3.37
- 91% acceptance into four-year colleges and universities
- 24% acceptance into Top 50 US universities
- Millions in college scholarships secured
- Several prestigious awards received, including one Gates Scholarship, one Posse Foundation Scholarship, and two Jordan Wings Scholarships
None of these achievements would be possible without supporters like you! Our Scholars succeed not only because of their formidable skills and determination but also because of community members like you who recognize their greatness and believe in them. Each year, we encounter greater numbers of students in the Chicago area who need our help to achieve what they are capable of—and the LINK team plans to strategically expand programming to meet that growing need.
