Welcome to New LINK Staff

We are so pleased to welcome new staff member Maurice Tiner to the LINK team!
Maurice, our new Director of Advancement & External Affairs, is a native of the Austin community and a LINK alumnus. Through his participation in LINK, he was nominated for the Posse Scholarship, which provided the opportunity for him to attend and graduate from Connecticut College with a BA in Africana studies. He then matriculated to Yale Divinity School and received an MA in religion with a concentration in Black religion and the African diaspora.
Guided by the philosophy of servant leadership, Maurice was drawn to work at his alma maters, Connecticut College and Holy Trinity High School, to formally serve as the Director of Race & Ethnicity Programs and Dean of Students, respectively. His wide array of leadership experiences include serving on a college board of trustees, educational leadership consulting, leading young alumni giving strategies, and supporting multiple major capital campaigns. He enjoys building and sustaining authentic relationships with donors and corporate sponsors while ensuring their resources can be utilized in ways that make a transformative impact in the lives of those who need it most.
Maurice is excited to return to LINK to continue advancing the organization’s mission through fundraising initiatives, connecting with external partners, and revitalizing alumni engagement. He is committed to being an advocate for youth from under-resourced communities, serving in the capacity of Mentor, educator, and opportunity liaison. In his spare time, Maurice enjoys the vast Chicago food scene and leisurely travel.
Congratulations, Maurice! We’re excited to see how your work amplifies LINK’s mission to see Chicago’s Black youth to, through, and beyond college!
