THE CHALLENGE

Chicago’s educational system amplifies persistent inequities, creating deep and lasting opportunity gaps for historically underrepresented students, particularly Black students.

Due to systemic barriers, college graduation rates for historically underrepresented students consistently fall below the national average.

Without access to rigorous academics, college preparation, enrichment opportunities, or professional networks, historically underrepresented students, especially Black students, face limited social mobility and long-term economic instability.

When opportunity gaps persist, we lose future leaders, creators, and changemakers.

When historically underrepresented students, particularly Black students, who face the greatest barriers, are left behind, the the impact is profound and far-reaching. It’s not only a loss of individual potential, but a societal setback. Our city is being denied future community leaders, business experts, out-of-the-box-thinking entrepreneurs, and problem solvers. We forfeit the diverse perspectives and inclusive leadership essential to building a more equitable, innovative, and representative society.

LINK Unlimited Scholars is the Solution.

We link Black students in Chicago to the path to, through, and beyond college.
