Special Thanks to Our Federal Work Study Students

We’re so grateful for the assistance, support, and hard work we’ve had from our two federal work study students—Jada Ghee and Nico Camacho—as part of our LINK internship team this fall!
Jada is a marketing major (with a minor in advertising) at Loyola University Chicago, and she’s been busy learning how to help brands connect with people in creative ways. She previously served as a market research intern at Ipsos, where she analyzed consumer insights and learned how data drives brand decisions. She also worked in Loyola’s School of Law, helping craft a comprehensive marketing plan to strengthen enrollment in graduate programs. “Those experiences fueled my passion for combining creativity with strategic thinking,” she said, “and after graduation, I hope to build a career in marketing that allows me to do exactly that.”
“I’ve been excited about working with LINK Unlimited Scholars not only for the professional development and mentorship it offers,” she remarked, “but also for the opportunity to give back, especially to youth who can benefit from guidance and support as they plan their own futures.”
Nico is a senior at Loyola majoring in Communication Studies with a minor in Women & Gender Studies. “In the future, I aim to showcase my communication skills while honoring my passions and values,” they said. “A career focused in areas such as sustainability, animal rights, or culture and arts would align well with my pursuits.”
Nico returned to LINK this fall after an incredible first year with us. They believe deeply in our mission and have been excited to continue building their professional network while contributing to Scholar success. “Through conducting interviews with Scholars this fall, it’s been enlightening to see how the LINK program has helped shape their lives,” they said, “not to mention it’s been a pleasure to work with such a genuinely compassionate and talented team.”
Throughout the fall, Jada and Nico have spent many hours working in the marketing and communications department at LINK. They have attended numerous LINK events to take photos and video and conduct interviews with Scholars, Mentors, and alumni. In addition, they’ve attended recruitment events, conducted research, and played a pivotal role in categorizing and preserving historical data for the organization. They’ve both been willing to jump in and help wherever they can, and the LINK staff has come to depend on their problem-solving skills, quality control, and general awesomeness!.
“We’ve been beyond excited to have Nico and Jada on the team this year,” said LINK staff member Katie Abele. “Having team members who see the problem, source innovative solutions, and run with the results is invaluable. We are honored they have chosen us to stretch their burgeoning wings. LINK is community-minded, and we all see the future in college students.”
What a privilege to have had these talented leaders on our team! Thank you, Jada and Nico, for all your hard work and significant contributions to LINK. We wish you the best, and we look forward to seeing where your future careers take you!
