LINK Scholar Jamari Grant Earns the Marc Jacobson Blue Demon Scholarship
Earlier this spring, Jamari Grant received the news that he won the inaugural Marc Jacobson Blue Demon Scholarship for DePaul University! Jamari recently graduated from Marist High School where he played football and ran track. He is also a Jesse White Tumbler—the acrobatic team that performs more than 1,500 choreographed routines each year. The Tumblers have regularly performed at Blue Demon men’s and women’s basketball games.
Because of his accomplishments and talents, Jamari won the impressive $240,000 scholarship to attend DePaul. He will also work in the athletics department as a student assistant in the area of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI). The scholarship will cover tuition, room and board (on-campus), and university fees.
Jamari currently works part-time at an animal center and plans to major in health sciences to eventually become a veterinarian. Jamari shared this at the award ceremony:
“When I heard about DePaul, I knew it was for me. This is a dream come true. I want to work hard and one day be in a position to give something back to my community. It all starts with my generation. Maybe I can help provide a scholarship for a future Jesse White tumbler just like Mr. Jacobson did for me.”
We are extremely proud of and excited for all that’s ahead for Jamari!
