Honoring the Late Jerome “Jerry” Girsch

LINK Unlimited Scholars mourns the January 2025 passing of our longstanding LINK Mentor, board member, and generous donor Jerome “Jerry” Girsch, who was a staunch advocate for LINK since the late 1990s. Over the years, Jerry donated and raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for LINK. He served as a Mentor to several Scholars between 1999 and 2009, and following his lead, his children have also mentored Scholars over the years. Jerry’s impact is immeasurable, and his legacy will last for generations.
A proud South Sider, Jerry grew up in the Beverly neighborhood and attended St. Barnabas. He went on to earn a degree in accounting from Loyola University. After beginning his career at Arthur Anderson, he spent many years working for Waste Management and then LKQ. In addition to his career, Jerry enjoyed giving back to the community through his service to the Knights of Columbus and his work on the board of directors at DePaul and LINK.
Jerry was truly a man of impact. This LINK Resolution was written in his honor. We are proud to recognize him and all of his efforts on behalf of LINK over the last three decades. We will remember him fondly and deeply miss his presence at LINK.
At the request of the Girsch family, please consider a gift to LINK in Jerry’s memory.
