Celebrating Our Recent Grant from Opus

We are extraordinarily grateful to Opus for supporting LINK with a $150,000 grant for FY 2026 and 2027. Our relationship with Opus began in 2023 with their first grant of $5,000. We appreciate their continued support and the significant increased investment. Special thanks to Brett Tomfohrde, Director of Real Estate Development at Opus—and former LINK mentor to Joshua Bell (class of 2021) and Ofei Atiemoh (class of 2025)—for his recommendation that we apply for this funding.
At LINK, our challenge is twofold: the persistent educational inequities facing Black students in Chicago and the growing need for organizations like us to adapt and sustain our work within a rapidly shifting philanthropic and political landscape.
This two-year capacity-building grant will provide the critical support we need to confront these challenges head-on, strengthening our infrastructure and communications to protect our mission and repositioning our work for long-term sustainability, ensuring that Black Scholars continue to have access to the transformational opportunities they deserve. We’re grateful for this substantial investment from Opus. Thank you!
