A Peek at What’s Ahead for LINK Scholars | January
Upcoming LINK Scholar Programming
The winter days may be cold and dark, but LINK Scholar programming is heating up in the next few weeks as students focus on their leadership and personal development.
Community Service
One of the key hallmarks of the LINK experience is exploring topics around leadership development. Students put leadership into action with our annual MLK Day of Service this coming Monday, January 16, 2023. This student-led project will involve collecting supplies to donate to Deborah’s Place & Facing Forward to End Homelessness, based in our focus neighborhood of North Lawndale,
Scholar Retreats
Beginning in February with the Class of 2026 freshmen, each cohort of Scholars will have their own leadership and personal identity retreat in the coming months. These retreats are a way for students to continue to build their reflective capacities as they explore topics relevant to their academic year. Retreats also play an important role in building relationships and helping students understand their personal strengths and those of their communities.
