January Saturday Academy Highlights & Photos

Career Inspiration Day Connects Scholars to Future Pathways

On January 31st, we hosted another impactful Saturday Academy along with our annual Career Inspiration Day. The day’s programming focused on leadership development, college readiness, and career exploration—helping Scholars strengthen the habits and confidence needed to persist through college.
This year’s Career Inspiration Day featured more than 20 interactive workshops, allowing Scholars to choose sessions aligned with their personal interests and career aspirations. The choice-based model, implemented in response to Scholar feedback, created a more personalized and engaging experience. Sessions ranged from hands-on opportunities such as Aviation Career Exploration: Take Flight!, where Scholars participated in flight simulations, to panels on business, entrepreneurship, leadership, technology, and public service.
We are grateful to event sponsors U.S. Bank and FedEx, whose support helped make the day possible. U.S. Bank professionals also participated in the Finance & Wealth Management Panel: Making Money Work for People and Businesses, sharing insights on financial services and the role of wealth-building in long-term economic mobility.
The impact of the day was clear:
- 97% of Scholars reported learning something new about careers
- 94% said the experience helped connect their interests to college and career goals
- 91% were introduced to a career they want to explore further
- 94% shared they were glad they participated
Presenters also reported a highly positive experience, praising Scholars for their curiosity, professionalism, and thoughtful engagement.
Thanks to the support of our partners and sponsors, Scholars left the day with expanded networks, deeper career awareness, and stronger connections between college preparation and their future career pathways!
