Honor the Past & Invest in the Future

A Year-End Reflection as LINK Approaches 60 Years
As we enter the winter season and the countdown to our 60th anniversary, we pause to reflect on our rich history and the legacy that has shaped nearly six decades of work. The upcoming anniversary year will be one of celebration, Honoring the Past & Investing in the Future, a theme that acknowledges how far LINK has come and how boldly we must continue to look ahead.
The LINK story began in 1966, when founders John and Carolyn Parmer, inspired after hearing Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. speak, responded to a call for educational access. What started with one student attending De La Salle High School has now transformed the lives, dreams, and futures of more than 3,000 Scholars and alumni.
Through shifting political landscapes, economic pressures, and persistent systemic barriers, LINK has remained steadfast in our mission to support Scholars To, Through, and Beyond College. Our work has not been easy, but our commitment has never wavered.
As we move into its 60th year, we honor this remarkable legacy while also preparing for the future our Scholars deserve. Please join us today with a generous year-end gift to support our Scholars. Year-end contributions will build upon 60 years of impact while advancing our next chapter of strategic priorities:
- Expand Access & Equity: Annually serve 500+ Scholars by 2028, and
- Increase College Completion: Raise our four-year college graduation rate from 55% to 65%, preparing our Scholars to graduate on time, with minimal debt, and poised for long-term economic mobility.
Every gift advances this mission. Every dollar supports a Scholar’s journey. Please make your year-end gift today and help fuel the next generation of transformative Black leaders.
Thank you for your PARTNERSHIP. Thank you for your BELIEF. And thank you for helping us build a LEGACY 60 years strong… and counting!
