New Member of the Economic Club of Chicago
Dr. Gunn was recently accepted into the prestigious Economic Club of Chicago, a renowned organization that connects top business and civic leaders of all generations and backgrounds. Its mission is to foster an open exchange of ideas on important economic and social issues, providing a platform for members to engage with thought leaders and shape the future of our economy.

Speaker: Illinois Center for Education Equity & Chicago State University’s 3rd Annual Education Equity Conference
Dr. Gunn joined an esteemed panel of education leaders on Monday, November 10, at the 3rd Annual Education Equity Conference—“Time for a New Roadmap”—at Chicago State University. The powerful discussion, moderated by Karen Freeman-Wilson (President, Chicago Urban League), also featured Dr. Janice Jackson (Executive Director, Aspen Institute Education & Society Program) and Jeffrey Beckham (CEO, Chicago Scholars).
The panel explored factors shaping young adults’ perspectives on the value of college, reflecting on new research released by CSU’s Illinois Center for Education Equity, which is focused on reversing Illinois’s 37% decline in Black student enrollment in higher education. The conference convened civil rights, policy, philanthropic, and corporate leaders, as well as students, to drive bold strategies for closing the higher education attainment divide in Illinois and beyond.
