In Case You Missed It: Scholars Explore Dominican University

When Scholars participate in college exposure opportunities, they take an important step toward making informed and empowered decisions about their futures. We applaud our Scholars’ open-mindedness, initiative, and engagement as they continue to explore their options early in their academic journeys.
On Monday, February 16, LINK Scholars visited Dominican University for a morning of exploration and learning. The visit included a guided campus tour, admissions and financial aid presentations, a session with the Center for Cultural Liberation, and a student panel featuring current Dominican students.

During the tour, Scholars had the opportunity to see Parmer Hall, the university’s newest building, named in honor of LINK founders John C. and Carolyn Parmer. The visit provided valuable insight into campus life, academic offerings, and scholarship opportunities.
Scholars especially appreciated the chance to experience the college environment firsthand.
“My favorite part was seeing the classes because it shows what classes would be like if I went to that college.”
— Khaliq Cruz, Class of 2028
“My favorite part was viewing the campus and getting lots of info about the school’s majors. I was surprised by how easy it was to get scholarships.”
— Jasmine Greer, Class of 2027
After the visit, 100 percent of attendees reported being more interested in applying to Dominican University than before.
